Project Accountant
Either up and coming in the financial world or already experienced with a project accounting background, you’ll be capable of looking after multiple international and fast paced projects in a busy environment. Completing tasks and staying on top of things is part of your DNA. Whether it be managing multiple stakeholders, controlling accuracy of costs, billing clients, creating reports or generally helping out with other things; your ability to manage multiple tasks day-to-day while using your initiative and insights to make improvements enable our growth and make you a valuable asset to the finance team.
Specifics:
• You will ensure our projects have approved budgets and accurate financials.
• You run the day-to-day finance activities of the sales ledger, working closely with the wider team, you ensure all projects are billed accurately and on time.
• You understand the nuances of running multiple multicurrency projects, delivered globally and can track performance and deliverables across project lifecycles.
• Throughout the lifespan of the project, you will be able to ensure transactions are captured accurately, making recommendations on where improvements could be made as necessary.
• You’re able to reconcile and close out projects, evaluating what worked well and what didn’t, challenging current thinking and processes as appropriate.
• You liaise with clients, ensuring they have a great experience while we work with them to receive POs and any other paperwork to facilitate smooth transactions.
• You will be capable of building out minor project budgets, keeping an eye on the details, and ensuring all costs are posted correctly.
• You look after the general administrative tasks too, ensuring our projects and clients are set up correctly and ready to go in our systems.
• Raising and checking timesheets and POs for Freelancers are in place and accurately captured compared to agreed budgets and submitted timesheets.
• You’re a people person, regularly checking in with our wider team, reviewing projects with budget holders and ensuring our system accurately represents the latest position.
• You will provide insight and analysis, raising the flag on any issues you spot to help us get ahead of any situation to ensure faultless delivery.
• You help with the month end process, assisting our Finance Manager with revenue recognition and forecasting.
• You’re not afraid to get stuck in, helping ease the work flow and covering other members of the department when required.
• You deal with any ad-hoc finance queries in a professional and timely manner.
• You create, refine & implement improved reporting. Circulating regular information to the wider team to improve awareness of project performance.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• You’re either in the process of gaining a professional qualification or experienced in the financial management of projects.
• You’re super organised and have fantastic attention to detail, can make improvements and see your ideas through to completion.
• You have great emotional intelligence, are reliable, trustworthy and have excellent communication and time management skills.
• You have a knack for translating commercial data into clear insights, providing commentary that guides both financial and operational thinking.
• You possess outstanding work ethics, integrity and professionalism.
• You can cope with multiple demands within a fast paced environment and are able to meet deadlines while bringing a positive mindset.
• You have the confidence to challenge as appropriate.
• You have a good working knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Slack (Procim experience would be great but not essential).
